A practice log for pianists — currently in private beta.
A digital piano or MIDI keyboard, and a way to connect it to your device — a USB cable, or Bluetooth if your piano has it. PiaLog currently runs in the browser, but it requires a browser that supports direct intake from digital pianos (Web MIDI). This works with Chrome or Edge on Windows / Mac / Linux, or Chrome on Android.
iPhone and iPad unfortunately cannot record yet. Apple doesn't allow direct intake from digital pianos in any iOS browser. You can still view everything on an iPhone or iPad; the recording itself needs a laptop, desktop, or Android device.
In pialog, you build your own practice library by uploading pieces as MusicXML files. These are usually easy enough to find for classical and public-domain music, but harder for pop or more recent pieces. Tracking works only for sheet music (not for e.g. improvising or practicing musical staircases).
